Job seekers and consultants don't have to look far to find articles telling them how to interview, how to network for jobs, and how to follow up on job leads. However, one thing that is not often talked about is how companies treat prospective candidates during the job search.
ReplyDeleteRecruiters talk about having several hundred applicants for one job in the current economic reality. Does this excuse them from displaying professional behavior toward candidates?
Organizations can be hurt by the behaviors mentioned in this article. Perhaps that candidate will not shop at that store anymore, or will tell his/her colleagues not to apply for jobs at that organization. These are just two of the ripple effects that can occur when applicants are treated poorly during the application process.
